There are 3 steps from the upper terrace to the main garden, the risers are 160mm, the tread is 1200mm so may be manoeuvrable by wheelchair with help 1/3 acre of mature informal lawned garden developed over 46 years by the owner that continues to evolve with delights to discover round every turn. The season starts in February with large swaths of galanthus mainly Sam Arnott plus many other named varieties. The snowdrops are followed by hellebores, spring blossom including a magnificent Cornus Eddies White Wonder supported by verdant shape and form in the fernery followed by huge standard buddleja alternifolia, shrub roses, delphiniums, alliums and a superb Cornus Miss Satomi in June. High summer sees the fullness of herbaceous planting and hydrangeas coming to their best with Asters, Salvias, grasses, Japanese anemones, dahlias and masses of cyclamen bringing the Autumn season to a close. Lots of seating around the garden and shelter in the conservatory or the gazebo which overlooks a burgeoning wildlife pond and gives some welcome shade when it gets too warm.

This garden opens for By Arrangement visits from 7 February to 27 September for groups of between 6 and 20.
