A two hour show with Europe’s best Shads tribute packed with all those Great Shadows hits and more than a few from Sir Cliff.
In June 1960 Hank B Marvin, Bruce Welch, Jet Harris and Tony Meehan recorded Apache. This charted in July and became the monster hit that launched the Shadows instrumental career and founded a nation of bespectacled guitarists dreaming of acquiring their very own Fender Stratocaster and stepping out into the glaring spotlight of stardom.
Originally Cliff’s backing band it didn’t take the group time find a winning hit formula (and the Shadows synchronised guitar walk) chalking up 33 hits and another 35 with Sir Cliff.
The Bootleg Shadows will be paying tribute to this legacy and performing at the Melbourne Assembly Rooms on 7th March.
Doors open at 6:30pm and showtime is at 7:30pm. The show will have theatre-style tiered seating.
