at the South Derbyshire Visitor Information Centre
We’ve been hard at work here at the South Derbyshire Visitor Information Centre putting together a display for VE Day and we’ve received some wonderful feedback on it from guests who were able to see it both before and on VE Day.
Our exhibition includes militaria from the Second World War -including helmets, medals and even the collection of one local serviceman’s various papers and medals – as well as poster boards with newspaper reports of different gentleman from Swadlincote and the surrounding areas who, unfortunately, would not make it home. Thank you to our friends at the Magic Attic for their help with providing the boards and artefacts!
For anyone who missed it and would like to drop by, you needn’t worry! The display will be in the gallery until the end of May at the very least!
