The Round House Gallery
Reflecting South Derbyshire’s pottery heritage, the gallery opened its first annual Baker’s Dozen Exhibition in 1990 which originally started with thirteen potters exhibiting thirteen pieces of work each. By 2019 it had reached the 30th Baker’s Dozen which exhibited well over 169 individually made pieces of work. Over the years it has also held numerous individual exhibitions and group shows.
The gallery is set in a beautiful family home in the heart of Derbyshire and displays work by 50 of Britain’s leading contemporary studio potters. Each piece is individually selected for it’s craftsmanship by owner Philip Evans who is the resident potter. The gallery was established in 1989 and has been recognised by The Crafts Council for the quality of the ceramics available. A warm welcome awaits usually with a coffee, tea or wine and there is ample car parking available.
The gallery stocks a wide range of contemporary studio pottery. Items for sale on their website are examples of the stock. Other pieces are often available. Please refer to the opening times if you plan to make a special journey as the Gallery does have to close on occasions when selecting new work.
