Atmospheric gallery in a beautiful location, specialising in imaginative, spiritual and British Romantic work
The Manger Gallery is a small, atmospheric gallery housed in a 19th Century stable, part of the family home of artist Michael Cook, which borders the hamlet of Kings Newton and the attractive market town of Melbourne.
The Gallery shows changing selections of Michael’s work, alongside ceramics, sculpture, stained glass, prints, booklets and artist’s cards. The Manger Gallery also seeks to draw attention to a handful of regional and national artists whose work links with concerns evident in Michael’s own, in special themed exhibitions. Work in the British Romantic tradition, work with a strong narrative or literary dimension, visionary, spiritual or religious themes, and decorative aspects. This is bold, imaginative, highly individual work, exploring big ideas and personal visions in accessible and beautiful ways, with media including paintings and drawings, print-making, lettering and textiles.
The Gallery is open at a time convenient to you, please telephone or email ahead of your visit.
