The Coronation of King Charles III

It was wonderful to see so many of you in Swadlincote town centre on Saturday, 6th May to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III. We were lucky enough to be joined by a visiting Grenadier Guardsman and our Town Crier, who started the celebrations in the morning. If you managed to get a selfie with either of them, don’t forget to share it with us on our Facebook page

Crowds were entertained throughout the day by the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, Newhall Brass Brand, and singer Jenny Quinn. Well done to everyone who braved the rain to complete our Coronation Trail and crack the code to enter a prize draw for a Summer of Family Fun. If you didn’t manage to finish the trail on Saturday, don’t worry – you have until tomorrow (Wednesday, 10th May) to get your completed forms to the Visitor Information Centre on High Street and the winning family will be selected later that day.
