Molly Scott visits Melbourne

You can only imagine how excited we were on Wednesday 23 March when respected Derbyshire blogger Molly Scott visited Melbourne in South Derbyshire.

The sun shone as Molly meandered through the town together with a film crew from Bretby-based MIH Solutions, visiting businesses, interviewing their owners, sampling menus and discovering some of the rich history and heritage of this beautiful Georgian town.

A haven of superb restaurants, pubs and cafes, Melbourne also has a wealth of shopping opportunities including galleries, antique shops, specialist clothes stores, gift shops and local produce. The town proudly boasts more than fifty restaurants and shops!

No stranger to visitors, Melbourne is home to Melbourne Hall and Gardens with its Royal connections and the adjacent parish church of St. Michael with St. Mary – one of the finest Norman parish churches in Britain, believed to have been built circa 1125-35.

It is also home to a thriving Arts Festival each September, drawing artists, musicians and gifted crafts people into a celebration of creativity.

Molly and the crew had a great day and we think their video and Molly’s Blog captures the charm and spirit of Melbourne and its warm, friendly welcome. #DiscoverMelbourneUK
