Leatherbritches is a small traditional craft brewery established in 1993. The brewery shop offers a premium extensive range of real ales, all brewed and bottled on site utilising 20BB Brewery traditional brewing methods using ingredients sourced from across the globe. Leatherbritches prides itself on only using the finest ingredients.
Why Leatherbritches? Before the advent of science and technology, to determine the gravity of beers for duty to be paid to the King, the ale conners used to spill beer on the wooden benches and sit on it while they had their snap!! (lunch)….. they could then estimate the beers strength by how hard they stuck to the seat. This meant that they had to wear trousers capable of withstanding the wear and tear of the job. Hence they chose Leatherbritches.
