TTV Repton Circular Walk
This gentle walk follows the Trent Valley Way from the historic village of Repton. After a short stretch along the roads the route follows footpaths across, farm tracks and country lanes before returning to Repton.
This walk will take you along well-defined paths, arable fields, farm tracks and country lanes. There are also stiles, gates and narrow footbridges.
The main point of interest for this walk is, of course, the village of Repton. The village itself dates back to the 8th Century and was the capital for the old Kingdom of Mercia. Additionally it was the burial site for many of the old Mercian kings. Repton Grammar School was opened in 1559 and developed during the 18th and 19th centuries, leading to the significant presence the school has within the village. The surrounding areas of Twyford, Milton and Foremark also have significant historical note that the attached leaflet provides information for.
For further information on the walk, see Ordnance Survey Explorer 245.
