Shardlow Circular Walk
Discover the past of this historic inland port village and the importance of the Trent and Mersey Canal on its development over the years. A leisurely circular walk taking approximately 2.5 hours commencing in the village of Shardlow, easily reachable on the B5010 London Road (previously the A6).
Walk past working marinas and their narrowboats into open fields with horses and cattle, several stiles, canal paths and a lock gate to climb over at Derwent Mouth Lock. Admire the interesting buildings as you pass through Great Wilne before returning back to Shardlow and the Heritage Centre, the starting point of your walk.
