Blacksmithing experience days
Firehound Forge offers experience days for anyone – whether you are interested in taking up a new hobby, testing the waters for a new career or just fancy an interesting day out. Full or half day experiences are available to individuals and small groups.
Daniel Goodwin, is a traditional blacksmith with a workshop on the Catton Park estate. Born and bred in Gloucestershire, he spent three years as an archaeologist in Ceredigion and another three training at the National School of Blacksmithing in Herefordshire. After graduating, he wandered the country as a journeyman for two years until settling down at his current forge in 2018. In 2021, he was awarded Journeyman rank by the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths.
