Nuroosa - The Gathering Place

A truly intentional space in the heart of South Derbyshire. Our mission is to move beyond sustainability, crafting regenerative spaces designed to actively restore and enhance the well-being of people and place. Built by owners Pete and Rebecca Lacey—both Registered Nurses, using a collaborative design  approach the venue embodies a commitment to nurture and care in every detail.

The Nuroosa Experience:

We invite you to discover a permanent, architecturally considered structure that sits lightly in our landscape, offering guests continuous connection  in our maturing wild landscape. Though you are sheltered inside, large, thoughtfully placed windows ensure you feel completely connected to the quiet beauty of the wild gardens and woodland outside. Our spaces are flexible and design-led, balancing reclaimed pieces with modern clarity to create a timeless backdrop for meaningful experiences, and because our offers are for exclusive use hire, we can be as flexible as the weather. 

What We Offer: Nuroosa serves four core markets, providing year-round stability and supporting the local community:

• Weddings: A licenced venue for ceremonies outside or inside our light-filled rooms. We offer weekend wedding packages that allow a relaxed setup and takedown, with all events supported by Linzi from “That Black and White Cat Weddings” and our unique focus on positive, sustainable impact. The Curated Nuroosa Gathering offers intimate simplicity, ensuring an effortless, intentionally crafted event for up to forty guests with a focus on local, seasonal quality.
• Wellbeing: A tranquil sanctuary for Day Retreats and future overnight events. Our flexible rooms and grounds (including The Lido and woodland areas) welcome practitioners offering yoga, sound baths, saunas, and nutritional food—creating the unique gathering space that South Derbyshire practitioners have been seeking.
• Corporate Away Days: An alternative, inspiring space where creativity can flow. Our flexible indoor and outdoor rooms are surrounded by nature, making this the perfect environment for teams to connect, ideate, and feel genuinely valued.
• Funerals & Wakes: A supportive, peaceful setting for un hurried farewells. Our light, uplifting venue and grounds offer a gentle embrace of nature during times of grief, providing a necessary and deeply personal alternative to traditional settings.

Connectivity & Transport:

Nuroosa’s rural setting provides tranquility without sacrificing convenience. We are strategically located near major transport links: just minutes from the M1, A50, and A52. We are a short distance from Derby Train Station and East Midlands Parkway, and approximately 15 minutes from East Midlands Airport (EMA). This central UK position makes us effortlessly convenient for guests travelling from Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham, and across the country. Our entrance is designed for safety, and we offer a dedicated space for coach turning to support sustainable travel plans.

On Site: Every aspect of Nuroosa is commercially considered. We provide ample on-site parking designed to be discreetly hidden from the main gathering spaces. Access for all is paramount, with a fully accessible path leading from the entrance to the venue. Nuroosa has an on-site Catering Kitchen, an in-house bar area, and an integrated sound system and projector facilities. 

Sustainability : Our commitment to regeneration is visible in our biosolar roof, the eucalyptus crop grown on-site for biomass fuel, modern composting toilets, and our pride in being accredited members of the Sustainable Wedding Alliance, and on a journey towards B Corp Certification.
