Rosliston Forestry Centre's Japanese Trail
A woodland walk created in 2018 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of South Derbyshire’s ‘twinning’ with the Japanese city of Toyota in 1998.
Explore our part of the National Forest and find out what we have in common with our friends from Japan – and discover the similarities and differences in the ways that we enjoy nature!
This walk takes you across the trails at Rosliston Forestry Centre and so should be suitable for most walkers.
This trail introduces a small slice of Japanese culture to the UK with Cherry Blossom trees, the Japanese Maple trees, and many references to Japanese legends and customs along the trails. The accompanying booklet also includes extra information about the relationship between nature and Japanese customs.
If you have any pictures of the trail that can be freely added to this page to help show off the trail, please do email us at info@visitsouthderbyshire.co.uk!
