TTV Shardlow Circular Walk

This walk in the meadows of the River Trent flood plain, begins at the inland port of Shardlow. It follows canal towpath, footpaths and bridleways via Church Wilne and Great Wilne, before returning to Shardlow.

The key points of interest on this walk are the village of Shardlow and the canal flowing through it, letting you experience a well-preserved example of an inland port. You will also traverse through Church Wilne, seeing St. Chad’s Church and St. Chad’s Water Nature Reserve, as well as Great Wilne.

The terrain on this walk is mostly flat, but it should be noted that there are frequent stiles along the route.
