Wild Roots Summer Club
A gentle summer nature club for families
Wild Roots Summer Club is a relaxed, nature-based family programme running across the summer holidays, alternating between Calke Abbey and Staunton Harold.
Each session follows a familiar, reassuring rhythm and includes:
- a seasonal story or piece of herbal folklore
- a hands-on nature activity
- free exploration stations
- time to reflect and close together
Weekly themes include roots and belonging, plants as helpers, shelter and care, balance in summer, stories in trees, and celebration and gratitude.
Families are welcome to attend one session or return across the summer to build continuity and connection. Activities are inclusive, low-pressure and suitable for a wide range of ages and needs.
Sessions are calm, creative and designed to help families enjoy nature together – without rushing, competition or overwhelm.
