Join the team for an action-packed week of activities to explore science and engineering in a fun way!
Meet real engineers and technicians and find out more about their work whilst learning about science.
Five exciting KS2 sessions to choose from : Choice of a full or half day of activities
- Crazy catapults – launch your own mini-catapult to discover the science of force, motion and engineering in this hands on physics challenge!
- Rapid rollercoasters – team up to build paper rollercoaster, race marbles through twists and turns while learning about forces and motion in this fun hands on challenge!
- Soar to shore – design, test and take to the skies – build paper planes, explore floating submarines and discover the science of flight, forces and buoyancy through exciting team challenges.
- Future cities – step into the future and discover how small ideas can make a big difference. This hands on workshop empowers young minds to become environment innovators of tomorrow.
Our place in space – venture from earth to the stars with Rosliston Astronomy group as they explore planets, galaxies, astronomy and our universe in a mesmerising slide show.
Booking costs and additional information for schools:
- Booking essential: Â ( half day or full day) for an action-packed week of activities to explore science and engineering in a fun way!
Cost per class: £110 per 2 hours or £200 for 4 hours (all day). - Discount for more than 1 class
Home educators day Friday 9th October
KS2 school groups 12th to 16th October
Additional informationÂ
The Centre offers free parking for Blue Badge holders and around half of the site’s surface paths are fully accessible for wheelchair users. Other pathways are comprised of grass or gravel.
Adult Mobility Scooters can be hired from our shop – £2 for 2hrs. Wheelchairs are available for free. Both are subject to availability.
A fully accessible toilet can be found in the main building and features wheelchair access, a wetroom shower and an adult changing bed with hoist.
